The Logistics Business Association and Cambodia Digital Tech Association have partnered to boost digital use in the logistics and transportation sector, placing high hopes that it will lead to rapid development. The two associations signed a memorandum of understanding on the deal this week.

They agreed to encourage members to adopt a digital system to provide more functions for users to help them to expand their businesses. The two associations will support each other and promote local digital technology and logistics services to each other to increase the market position for the overseas business expansion of members in the future and to cooperate in helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Chea Chandara, president of the Logistics Business Association, said the partnership is in line with the government’s policy in boosting Industry 4.0.  The government’s public service has now become digital-based, which requires the private sector to follow suit.  “It is important for the two associations because Cambodia Digital Tech Association can provide information technology knowledge to our association’s members,” Chandara said. “This is also important for it to adapt in the context of the government’s Industry 4.0 policy, meaning that some public services such as business registration are now processed via a digital platform,” he added.

Last month, Cambodia Logistics Association in collaboration with Feed the Future Cambodia Harvest II, a USAID-funded project, discussed logistics challenges in the agricultural sector, potential solutions and investment opportunities, enhancing smart logistics systems and management in horticulture supply chains.
