DESCRIPTION

Please be informed that the product has been given the end-of-life notification and will no longer be produced.

Fingerprint sensor module is used as a way to verify identity. It is widely applied to computers, mobile phones, electronic door locks, access control systems, security safes, etc. This ultra-thin optical fingerprint sensor module is designed and manufactured by Jingy technology. It can store and identify up to 200 fingerprints.

It uses LED to emit light; the light passes through a specially designed plate and shines the finger above the plate. The internal image sensor receives the scattering light from the finger and output electrical signal. The built-in 32-bit microcontroller executes image signal processing with a unique algorithm to complete high-speed fingerprint sampling, template file establishment, identification and other operations.

This module has a rich command set for operating functions such as to enroll/verify/identify fingerprints, read/write fingerprint template file, get fingerprint image and so on. It uses UART interface (3.3V level, TTL) to communicate with external devices. The external controller can operate this module with communication protocols and instructions.

Besides the UART connector, there is a touch IC connector on this module. When the finger touches the metal frame of the fingerprint sensor, the touch IC outputs a high level signal. The external controller can detect this signal before powering the fingerprint sensor module, which can greatly reduce the standby power consumption.

You can download and execute the SKD_DEMO program on the computer to operate this module, or you can use an Arduino board to communicate with this module through UART interface. Please refer to the operation guide and example programs for more details.

PRODUCT FAQs

Question 1
I've received the product, but the PCB written GTM5210F12, not GTM-5210F32.

Answer
The GTM5210F52 and GTM5210F32 use the same PCB, and their boards are both written GTM5210F12.
You can find the record count in the software.
Steps:

  1. Connect the module to your computer and find the COM port in the device manager.
  2. Open the software and choose the corresponding COM port.
  3. Click "open" and click "module information".
